Who is responsible for your data

Platera, based in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, is the controller of your personal data. For anything to do with this notice, write to hola@platera.mx.

What we collect

If you join the waitlist: your name, your email address, and the city you live in.

If you register a business: the business name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, city, and optionally a website and Instagram handle.

We do not ask for card details, bank accounts, or identity documents. Platera does not process payments today.

The site also records the ordinary technical data any web server keeps, such as IP address and browser type, to keep the service running and protected.

What we use it for

Primary purposes: telling you when Platera reaches your city, following up on your registration, and reviewing applications from businesses that want to sell on the platform.

Secondary purposes: sending you product news. You can decline this from the start or unsubscribe later, and it will not affect your place on the waitlist.

We do not sell your data. We do run a Meta pixel, which we use to measure where visitors come from and to show ads to people who have already been here.

Who we share it with

Only the providers we need in order to operate: our web hosting provider and our email platform, which delivers the messages we send you. They process the data on our instructions and cannot use it for their own purposes.

Meta is the exception: the site's pixel sends it browsing data such as the pages you viewed and your IP address, and Meta handles that under its own policies rather than solely on our instructions.

Once Platera is trading, we will share with the business you choose only what is needed to prepare and deliver your order. We will make that clear before it happens.

We may also disclose information where a competent authority requires it by law.

Your rights

You can ask for access to your data, correction where it is wrong, deletion where you believe we no longer need it, and you can object to a particular use. You can withdraw consent at any time.

To exercise any of these, write to hola@platera.mx from the address you registered with, saying which right you want to use. We answer within twenty working days.

If our answer does not satisfy you, you can take the matter to INAI, Mexico's data protection authority.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your registration stands. If you unsubscribe, we remove you from our lists apart from the minimum needed to record that you asked to be removed.

Cookies

Alongside the technical storage the pages need in order to work, the site runs the Meta pixel (Facebook and Instagram), which sets Meta's own cookies to recognise visits and measure how our ads perform.

You can block it through your browser's cookie settings or with a blocking extension, and the site works the same. You can also adjust the ads you see from your Meta account settings.

Security and minors

We take reasonable measures to protect your information. No system is perfect, and if a breach affected your data we would tell you.

Platera is intended for people over eighteen, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this notice

If this notice changes, we publish the new version on this page with its effective date. Where the change matters, we will tell you by email.
