Tamaulipas y Veracruz
Tampico
Coming soon
Tampico does not work as one city but as three run together. Tampico, Ciudad Madero and Altamira grew until they touched, and across the river, already in Veracruz, Pueblo Viejo and Pánuco continue. People cross between municipalities and between states daily without thinking about it.
It is a port and it is industry. The Altamira corridor holds the petrochemical plants, and the traffic through both ports sets the working rhythm of the area, on shifts that line up with nobody else's lunch hour.
Then there is the weather, which here is not a footnote. Tampico is among the most humid cities in the country and summer brings heat and humidity together at the top of the scale. That changes how food is stored, not only how the day feels.
Meal prep here today
Prepared food has been around a while, pushed along by port and plant shifts. It sells by direct message, one customer at a time, with deliveries fitted in wherever they fit.
What is missing is seeing in one go who crosses to Madero, who goes up to Altamira, and who stays in Tampico. Today that is established by asking one at a time.

How Platera helps
Three municipalities, and the distances mislead. Someone living in Madero and working the Altamira corridor crosses the whole conurbation twice a day, and a kitchen in central Tampico does not necessarily reach either end.
With zone, days and hours published, you search where you are and see who genuinely comes that far.
Frequently asked questions
With the humidity here, how long does food last?
Refrigerated it lasts what it lasts anywhere, three to five days sealed. What changes is time spent out of the fridge: in August do not leave it on the counter while you finish something, put it away as soon as it arrives. That slip is what spoils food here, not the number of days.
Can I freeze half the plan?
Yes, and in this climate splitting it is sensible. Stews and rice freeze well; cooked seafood loses its texture and salads do not survive. Decide when the pack arrives rather than midweek.
Is it more expensive than cooking?
By the week's shopping, yes. By the month, usually not: you stop throwing out produce the heat got to, and the meals out on long shift days stop.
Is seafood any good prepared in advance?
Some kitchens do it and handle it carefully, others leave it out of weekly plans altogether because it is delicate. If crab and shrimp are what you want, check the menu and the delivery day, since that is food worth eating the same day.
Do they deliver in Madero and Altamira?
It depends on the business. They are separate municipalities and the Altamira industrial corridor sits well away from central Tampico, so some kitchens cover the whole conurbation and others stay on their own side. Each one publishes it.
How many deliveries a week?
It varies. Several kitchens here deliver two or three times a week rather than once, precisely because of the climate, so it arrives with fewer days on it. Others go daily. You filter for the frequency that suits you.
Do they cook food from the region?
Plenty do. Crab, fish and Huasteca recipes are on many menus, alongside kitchens working controlled portions for anyone who wants something else. It shows in the published menu.
